Meet Phil
President, Georgia & Florida Divisions
As the President of our family-owned and operated company, I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the most dedicated customers, project managers, superintendents, suppliers, and subcontractors in the industry. Our company’s foundation is built on strong relationships, and I consider it my most important role to cultivate these connections—with customers, suppliers, and laborers alike. The friendships and professional network we have established over the years have been truly life-changing, and I could not imagine a more fulfilling career.
One of the greatest rewards of this journey has been the opportunity to be a “family builder for life.” It is an honor to support our customers through multiple home projects over the years, from new builds to renovations, additions, and pools. Seeing their trust in our work and being part of their evolving needs is deeply gratifying. Additionally, the consistency and expertise of our team—many of whom have been with us for over 30 years—allow us to maintain the highest standards of quality and service.
Beyond my professional life, I am a devoted husband to my wife, Lisa, for over 31 years, and a proud father to our three children: Hailen, Makayla, and Alisa. Our family continues to grow, and we are blessed with three wonderful grandchildren—Adalynn, JP, and Hollis. Family is at the heart of everything I do, both personally and professionally, and I am grateful for the opportunity to build lasting homes and lasting relationships.

Christopher Byron
COO, JP Nichols Florida Market
Family and community are at the heart of everything I do, both personally and professionally. As
a proud father of three wonderful children, I believe that integrity, community, and growth are
essential parts of a fulfilling life. These values guide my work and relationships, shaping how I
approach both business and leadership.
With 20 years of experience in construction and entrepreneurship, my career began in my
family’s commercial marine construction business. Working alongside my mother and other
family members across the State of Florida, I had the privilege of supporting projects for clients
such as the Florida Department of Transportation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers,
Jacksonville Transit Authority, and NASA. From administrative support to project management,
I advanced through the company by learning every layer of the process and building a foundation of hands-on experience.
I have partnered with startups in Central Florida, helping to design business structures that
support growth and long-term sustainability. I continue to integrate technology, culture, and
strategy to help companies streamline workflows and achieve both top-line and bottom-line
results. Today, my work spans both commercial and residential construction, permitting, and
business architecture. I also work closely with regulatory agencies such as the Florida
Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, ensuring
projects are completed not only to the highest standards but also with compliance and
stewardship in mind.
My greatest rewards, both professionally and personally, have come from watching individuals
and teams grow and succeed. Mentoring others, celebrating their wins, and helping my family
and team members reach their potential have been some of the most meaningful parts of my
journey. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and staying involved in my
community. Although I grew up on Florida’s waters, “island time” only applies to me on
weekends—when enjoying the sand and sun.
Caleb York
Project Manager
Born and raised in South Dakota, I was an ambitious kid who loved borrowing my parents’ tools to bring my creative ideas to life. From a young age, I knew I wanted to work my way up in the construction industry, and I have dedicated my career to mastering the trade and leading successful projects.
I attended Washington High School and the Career & Technical Education Academy, where I earned certifications in both the Construction & Design and Manufacturing & Welding programs (2011-2015). It was there that I got my first hands-on experience in construction, helping build homes for Habitat for Humanity—an experience that reinforced my passion for the craft.
After graduating, I started my career in residential framing (2015-2017), constructing dream homes for clients across South Dakota. Eager to expand my expertise, I joined the Local 426 IBEW Electrical Apprenticeship Program (2017-2020), where I worked full-time while earning my certification as an electrician.
In 2020, I took a leap and moved south to Florida to work alongside my father, Buddy York, as a Construction Site Foreman. Over the next few years, I honed my leadership skills, managing on-site crews, ensuring projects ran efficiently, and upholding safety standards.
By 2023, I was promoted to Construction Project Manager, a role that I have fully embraced. I take immense pride in leading an exceptional team, delivering high-quality craftsmanship, and helping clients build their forever homes.
Outside of work, I am a passionate outdoorsman who enjoys hunting from a tree stand in the fall and fishing on the water during the summer. Construction is more than just a job to me—it’s a lifelong passion that I strive to perfect with every project.
